the guitar fixer

My Name is Dave Maddux and I have been playing and working on guitars for more than 50 years. In 1974 my friend and fellow bandmate got a job at the Fender factory in Fullerton. Soon he got me a job there also. I worked the next 43 years learning all aspects of how guitars are made and how to best set them up to get the most out of them.  My last gig there was building special guitars for people at the visitor center.  During the last fifteen years I have also been an instructor at Musicians Institute in Hollywood at the Guitar Craft Academy program teaching students to build and repair their own guitars. I am now  doing guitar repairs and setups from my own shop. I still have the desire to make every guitar I work on play and sound it's best.
